I have a 2002 Duramax 4wd that the body is rotted of.

I have found a nice low mile 2wd Duramax that I would like to make a 4wd.

Anyone know how much work is would be to do this? Especially worried about the electrical bs.

It's much easier if you do a floor shifted conversion.

Rick, look for threads by "wicked mayhem" and "matt78". There's one of Matt's threads "4wd conversion" where Ben chimed in on how to hook up the electric transfer case.

Wicked Mayhem had a whole thread on the conversion, pics and all.
Josh did Matt's conversion.

I converted my 2wd 2002 to floor shift 4wd. The swap was pretty straight forward except for cutting all the front diff mounts out of the doner truck and welding them into mine. That part was pretty time consuming. A few of the guys “cheated” and installed a lift at the same time and saves from having to weld in the drivers side front diff mounts. The 4wd harness plugged in under the fuse box and with the right tune the 4wd indicator on the dash works.
