Has anyone ever seen a 3500HD SRW come out of the factory without the overload leaf pack? It was to my understanding the only difference between the 2500 and 3500 was the overload leaf pack and the main leaf was the same across both trucks.

There is only 2 options of leaf packs for the ‘20+ and they are the same between 2500 and 3500 with the overload only offered for the 3500.

Asking more for the 20+ trucks. I know there were some GMT-800 trucks that didn’t have them although I don’t know what makes it a 1 ton then as they share p/n’s.

When i was optioning out the truck, i had no choice for the leaf pack on a 2500hd or 3500hd. 3500hd got a stiffer front torsion bar and the added overloads (just hits off frame stops), 2500hd had option of different front torsion (probably for snow plows) but you got the rear main pack with no additional overloads on top of them.

The dealer i got the truck from showed me a few trucks they added the overloads to on 2500hd's and looked identical to the 3500hd they had on the lot. i was going to put the overloads on mine if my trailer sagged the back end too much, so i looked into that option
