2020+ lowering kits??

Alright boys, I’m pretty sure I’m headed in a new altitude direction with the truck. Always lifted my rigs but I’ve always had a thought about lowering a cc/lb. I think they look pretty slick with a good set of wheels.

Right now I’m leveled with t-bars cranked 5 turns (only raised the front 1”). I think I’d like to drop this thing 4” all around from current height. Front shouldn’t be an issue but rear will most likely be an issue.

Is there anything out there for these things yet? I’ve not had a real good look at the rear spring hangers yet and I know the shackles get REAL close to the bed with any longer ones.

I’ll probably got a 20” wheel. Mmmaaayyybe a 22 but something in the 10” wide area, no rubber band sidewalls and a little bit of a dish to the wheel. I keep picturing a black LMM years back that had a nice set of wheels and tires on it that I’m going after. I have no clue who’s it was though.

Anyone know anything coming out for lowering them?

Pretty sure that’s Ruben’s old truck. The truck I’m thinking of had billet polished wheels. Might have been forces but not retarded wide and off set.

I have a feeling I’ll be cutting the frame at the bump stop anyhow! Axle flip is too much drop though. I have to drive through two pretty sharp washes to get to and from my house on a dirt road. I can’t go too low lol.

I’ll have to get under her and look her over.

Get you some 22x11 Forces (0 offset) and a 285/50/22 still be able to tow with it. I run this setup on my 16. My brothers 2022 is stock height on 285/50 and 22x10s and just rubs flap, so getting the offset pulled in further will help with tucking! Post pics when done!

I think 22’s are out but we will see. I know 11’s are too wide for what I want. 10 is as wide as I’ll go.

Forces are cool but if I’m spending that kind of money, I’ll get custom walker evan racing wheels like the old limo had. The cost is the same and that is my #1 favorite wheel.

I did find some gear alloy wheels I really like. I might go black/machined. 20x10 -19 offset gives a nice lip and still classy to me. Would look good with the truck lowered down on them.

I do wanna figure out a tire. Maybe an all terrain? Needs to be in the 305+ flavor though. I think a 285 will be too narrow for my liking but who knows.

I need to get my ass out there and get under the truck

Oh boys, we can make this work! Now the shackle to bed clearance will be another story. The good part is I think a 4” drop will work. They make a 2” drop shackle which “should be” 4” longer than stock (pivots and all, ya know). So brining the hanger up 4” should net the full drop.

Bump stop looks like it has a 4” drop bracket welded under it so that’s just a hack and weld back on. Just have to make sure the exhaust clears the axle under compression

I need my damn shop done. The 2 post lift will make this soooo much easier!

Looks like an awful lot of cutting and fabbing to make anything work, what with the spring mounts being welded on instead of riveted. Are you sure cutting up a new $$$ truck is really what you want to do?

In my eyes, it’s all steel. So it can always be welded back on if I don’t like it. It will be cut off in “fixable” chunks and saved for down the road. Plasma cutter and flap disc will make pretty quick work of it all. I’ll reuse the outer hanger. Inner will just get redrilled and opposite side of the frame will get hole sawed and a sleeve will go inside for the bolt similar to stock.

Doing it this way will allow it to keep stock ride, haul what factory does and no air bags needed. I could do a bandaid lowering by throwing shackles on and pulling leafs, yanking the bump stops and then adding bags but I hate the way bags ride when loaded. We will see. That route is still possible. I have to measure wheel well to tire clearance and make sure I won’t have rubbing issues when flexing or loaded. If that’s an issue, bags would be needed

I think you should just flip the leafs over. That should net you the required drop with minimal effort 😁
