Help: 2006 Sierra 2WD with torsion bars?

A friend bought a 2006 Sierra 1500 2WD which has been wrecked. Among a number of parts missing there are a few things that I have not seen before:
Did GM ever sell these 2WD trucks with torsion bar suspension?
Did they sell ext. cab trucks with 5.8" beds?

Not sure on the trucks, but 2wd SUVs had the torsion bars. Most 2wds Ive seen are coils up front, but GM has offered so many variations of things its difficult to know 100%.

You're seeing a 1500 2wd with Tbars and the short short bed?

5.3L Auto. The VIN and the label on the frame (C15...) do tell me 2WD.

I think only the 4.3 half ton 2wd trucks had coil spring front suspension. ALl the other 2wd trucks had torsion bar.

Strange, I am more familiar with 99 and 2000 MY 2WD trucks which all had coil spring front suspension even with the 5.3L/auto combo.
Just did a VIN check and the torsion bars do show up on the option list.
I was not aware GM changed things like that in the GMT800 lifecycle. All I was aware of was that they switched back to drum brakes out back.....

The only torsion 1500 truck 2wd was the crew cabs, other than those they where coils. Hope this helps.
