Who had issues with the PSC 6 bolt box?

I have heard the quality issues on the red and blue boxes, not yet on the PSC stuff.

FWIW it seems like these places were of highest quality when they were just starting off and not so big/busy. That's why I went to Minh Worx, and I am super happy. One guy with a small business. It wasn't the cheapest nor the fastest, but I am confident that I got a superior product that I won't need to worry about in a couple years. Man does it steer GREAT!

I've put two Cardone boxes in my truck in the last few months and both have started leaking at the output shaft within a month or two of installation. Now I'm back on the hunt for a quality box, I'm willing to spend the money on a top-quality product but from what I've seen PSC, Red Head and Blue Top all have mixed reviews. Has anyone tried the Dmaxstore box, Part# ‍DMAX-SG-0107? (see link below) It currently only has 4 reviews but all 4 are 5 stars. Priced at $589.56 for a new box. It's only a 4 bolt but they provide a QAQC test sheet for each box and it comes with a 3-year warranty as opposed to the 1-year from red and blue. I also still have my original box that I only replaced because the input shaft started leaking. I'm fairly certain it is the original box but it has almost 200K miles on it, I'm also contemplating just replacing the seals in that or sending it off for a rebuild if I can find a reputable shop to do the work. TIA

You can put new seals in but if the output shaft has excessive lateral play due to wear, the seal will not overcome.

These boxes take a beating with high steering loads (big tires, heavy diesel motor) which distorts the sector shaft races. It takes a quality rebuild to fix/replace the shaft and/or rebore the race.

This is the reason a bigger “dodge” box is a better solution.

My redhead had 0.035” of lateral shaft deflection with my wife turning the wheel, her boney arms even without no power steering. Redhead claimed normal.
