Default Banks Diff Cover Video

Have any of you guys watched the videos Banks is doing on aftermarket differential covers?

I've never been a fan of them, just like deep trans pans, but for a few different reasons.

It seems pretty interesting especially since he seems to be trying to prove the stock one is the best route. So it doesn't seem like the beginning of a sales add, just a good unbiased test. (So Far)...

He put that out about a month or so ago. Has he done anymore testing since? Very interesting though. Iíve had a magtec on my truck since 2002 so be interested to see what he comes up with

Yea, there was a new one a few days ago, and a new one today. He still hasn't finished the series though.

Watched the other two. He makes one hell of a compelling argument. Really interested to see what he gets when they are all tested. I might swap to a stock one lol

Thanks for the link. That clear cover in the video today must have cost him a few dollars. It is the fist time I have seen inside a diff while it was running in all my years of working on them. Can't wait to see the numbers when he gets done. Almost want to go and buy something from Banks just so we can see more R&D like this.

Default Banks Diff Cover Video

Heís awful to listen too. Rambles on. 10 min to tell a 2 min story.

So to save people time, in the first video, stock cover, 200hp through it steadily for an extended time, 75w-90 synthetic oil, temp topped out at 336F.

Will see what the aftermarkets do. I havenít seen the other vids yet.

One thing I like about the aftermarket ones is the dipstick. Nicer than pulling a plug and leaking oil all over if it was overfilled. Outside of that I dunno if they benefit anything or not.

Yeah, I've watched all but the one he posted today. Very interesting, to me at least. But listening to him talk is a little painful, and drug out

I thought the anemometer in the first video was just a fan to keep him cool while filming till he said something. I know what a wind speed monitor is it just looked strange under the truck. I'm more used to seeing them on the boom of a crane.

Default Banks Diff Cover Video

Oh yeah good info and testing for sure and as said nobody that makes the products have ever put out anything saying they tested them. I honestly thought someone had as they have been out forever.

I guess being there is no temp sensor and diffs donít give as much trouble as the other end of the truck does so nobody thinks about them.

He’s like bad porn. Better on ffwd. I’ve seen the first two, I’ll have to check for #3.
