Default Bummed out....

Went to put my polished IC pipe on today and found this little problem...

I'm pretty sure my 64mm BD supermax is in need of a rebuild. Kinda bummed right now as I had plans for the $ that will now just go to repairs. Kinda thought the turbo would last more than 2 years oh well. Maybe I will upgrade to a Titanium wheel or a billet one while the tubo is getting fixed. This explains my exhaust smoke though. How would you guys recommend cleaning my intercooler?

Sorry to hear that Damian maybe you could get the rebuild kit and do it your self.

I guess it's possible, what do you guys think I'm looking at cost wise? 4-500? Would a billet or Titanium wheel be worth the money for my setup?

Mine did the same thing before the warranty. I called them and they assured me some oil was normal, especially if you idle very often, so I let it slide. It's significantly worse now, I'm going to rebuild mine, clip the turbine, and put in a billet 66 comp.

Found this: http://shop.midwestturboconnection.c...00-Rebuild.htm

Anyone have an opinion on if the billet wheel is worth the money vs cast? And any idea what the rebuild kits run?

High Tech Turbo will do all this stuff for you. The number is 801-304-0700. I don't know the prices or anything, but they can help you figure out what you want to do. I'm actually going to call them here in a day or two, and ask them too.

I keep reading threads all the time here and elsewhere about failures like this. Why dont these aftermarket turbos last very long?

It really is a good question. I figured it would happen just not this soon. A close buddy suggested instead an s366 T4 non gated till I build the motor. For the price this seems like a nice option.
