Default LMM P0299 with 4094 possible fix

I have a pair of trucks local to me with 4094/72mm chargers on LMM's.

Both are Danville chargers, both had/have intermittent P0299 conditions when lugging in 5th and mostly 6th gear or under slow acceleration on the highway or pulling grades with the TC locked in taller gears.

The one I retuned/logged today seems to be running fine without codes for P0299 and he tried everything he could to get it to code including a 2.5 mile grade that usually set the code easily.

The other local truck is coming by Tuesday for a reflash to see if his truck will run code free as well once I make the changes.

I have a third truck out of state that I am going to email a new file to with a standard Garrett 4094, not a Danville one to see if it also cures the random underboost P0299 codes.

If all tests out then I believe I got it figured out for cause/effect and a fix for it.

Stay tuned.

Well the best thing to do would be to set the boost table and then turn on rtacs and pid data drive it and set the vane table according to actual position. Are any of the guys running the charger in arms length of a v2?

We don't log anything. We just change the numbers until it looks pretty on the screen.

RTACS only works with Road Runner LS1 style pcm's for gassers and LB7's, I know because I have two Road Runner ECM's.

You would want to create MAP files and then cut/past the data into the tune and blend the areas, however the target boost number could not be met even when the ecm shifted the vanes to 100% closed, so setting target vane position was not the fix for getting boost to cure the P0299 codes.

yeah if its already maxed out, I guess it either needs more fuel or later timing thier to push the turbo, or reduce the desired boost?
also there is the 2 tables in lbz/lmm under engine calibration that say let the ecm control boost. once i get the vane map correct I usually set the fuel values above 125 so that the ecm never tries to control boost, it just follows the predetermined vane % that way if the guy gets a cac leak the ecm won't wind the vanes tight and overspeed the charger.
Is it possible that the maximum vane position table is not at 100% in that area and the ecm is just cranking them down to the max allowed vane position. I have fat fingered stuff before myself I know you probably triple checked everything
just trying to think of any little detail to help
