Just prevents it from draining the rails on a higher pulse width tune. Keeps positive fuel pressure at the cp4 so it doesn’t have to work as hard drawing fuel from the tank

So just to maintain actual to commanded. Ok makes sense.

Now what about a CP3 conversion (stock pump), will that add any power?

Before I put the lift pump in, if I got on it with the big tune it would throw 0087. Now it’s no longer an issue. I have no clue why the Ford’s stock can make more power. Not positive, but didn’t stock turbo twin guys make 600-650 on stock CP4 If so, it’s not the CP4

Yes. I swapped to a sportsman cp3. Cp4 runs out of fuel around 500whp. Sportsman should do 650 easy. Stock lbz cp3s doing 650-675. Lml injectors are more efficient and return less fuel as well. Cp4 is your first bottle neck then turbo. I should be 580 but that’s pushing the stock turbo pretty dam hard

Thanks for the info!

Only issue I have with converting is that the CP3 will void my emissions compliance.

Hmm, I recall hearing about this. Pretty decent premium for that version though. Top it off, I'm in Canada.

Some say it has a higher flowing design but, I think it's just related to FPR and the 55 psi lift pump from the factory...
