I have always been curious what the plastic thing inside the spout of liquor bottles. Does anybody know? I always pull it out, I don't like things between my alcohol and me!

I think it just slows the flow down so you can tip it up fast but without it pouring out all crazy. I know I like it in my soy sauce! Forgot to put it back in one time after a bottle refill lol.

It allows the liquor to be poured out more smoothly instead of splashing all over the place. They allow air into the bottle while you are pouring so that it doesn't "glug" and go all over the place or cause you to pour more than you wanted. I don't see a lot of them in Canada to me it cheapens the stuff.
