Default NorCal fender mod long term reviews ?

Is this mod worth cutting into my truck ? My options are to do this or spend $1100 on a lift kit for the lbz. Anyone run into rust issues after a few years ?

If you do it right and take your time I think it's worth if if your trying to fit bigger wheels/ tires. Just have to think it through. Also no rust up here in western Washington.

How big of a wheel/tire combo are you wanting to do?

I have 285/60/18 on it now with a -12 offset . I cranked up the t bars a little , but they still rub on the inner fender .

I live in WI and have done the NorCal mod in 2015 and driven my truck for 2 years after that before it became a warm weather only toy. It has rusted but I wouldn't say its better or worse from this mod. When you're done apply some sealing paint/primer and you should be fine.

If you are not afraid to do some cutting, then it is worth it. Also take your time when you do it.

I cut and welded and painted all at the same time, so I’m no help, but it’s nice not to have to run a lift to fit marginal sized tires.
