Default PPE tuner questions

Bought my first diesel 04 lb7 GMC 2500hd want to do straight pipe and do away with the codes from that. I'm not intending on modifying it a lot. It has air dog fuel filters and new lift pump already from what I was told. Got it for a good price. Just want to add a little more pep. I'm not looking for a hot rod. I do some pulling of tractors and such that's about it. Other than that it's a daily driver. I'm reading on this POE system what would be best fit for me?

Moved your questions into their own thread in Tuning.

a PPE tuner is a decent handheld. You shouldnt get any codes from swapping to a straight pipe.

On a 2004 truck you shouldn't have any issues with codes and a straight pipe only.

But a little more pep and fuel mileage is always nice. I'd recommend getting ahold of Mark@ Danville Performance for a Autocal and Excellent tuning.
It will be worth it in the long run, especially if you decide to grow with the truck.

if you got/getting the PPE used, its not a bad setup. just keep power down in the 40hp over stock range if you want the trans to live and not worry about building it down the road.

if you are buying new, id just buy a single efi live tune from a reputable tuner and call it good.
