Default Spring measurement 5 leaf (4/1)

02 2500 eclb 2wd.
How much space between the main pack and the overload when unloaded? I have about a half inch. I'm trying to figure out if the reason for my harsh ride is from hitting the overloads.

Yes it is. You should have somewhere around 1.5 at the tail end of the overload

Thanks, kinda what I thought.

Any idea who makes a good riding spring. I've got airbags and traction bars, so I'm not worried about spring wrap or them being a little too soft.

I think it was Tom or someone that found new springs for cheap that brought the arch back. If you have a local spring shop close by, they can put the arch back in the stock leafs too. Otherwise you are looking at a set of deaver springs

Cant say I've had the need to find new springs for my truck though.

Thanks James and Tom.
I'll spend the next few days contemplating what springs to go with. Deavers are tempting, I'm just not sure how they will work combined with the bags. Decisions decisions decisions

After flattening my stock leafs I chose General Springs 4200lb HD springs as I carry heavy loads and tralers full of stuff most of the year to jobsites. Big difference in ride when loaded down. Seems like the more I put on them the better they ride. They are stiff unloaded but still ride and handle superb. I prefer my suspension set up more firm than some do and so far so good with these. Shipped to me aprox 550 I think. Been on truck for over a year and a squeek from a bushing is heard every now and then but still ride as new, look new and level. Ive yet to get them to squat more than a half inch lower than the front with a fully loaded bed and 7x12 utility trailer packed to the roof with tools, materials, concrete, and equipment.
