Went over to put the blind back up today at the farm since hurricane Florence has passed. We got lucky and only got about 8Ē of rain from Friday night through today. The pipe going to the field we hunt didnít fare so well. Itís a 48Ē pipe and had 2 dump truck loads of concrete chunks around it. The beans and turnips are a tad wet as well.

Just glad you guys are ok. A couple loads of concrete and dirt and you should be good to go?

Yes sir Tom, I have a couple people lined up to look at it with a trackhoe. I can't do it with my tractor and loader. It was fixed a couple years ago with 2 dump truck loads of busted up concrete and it washed most of it downstream. Some of it is reachable with a hoe. There's a pretty good hill going down to this pipe and it needs fixing as well.

Florence was an angry bitch! I'm still on generator power with trees everywhere...

If you want it to last. Get them to send you some bigger chunks 18Ē square and bigger. Also need Some geotextile fabric under the concrete as well. The concrete just canít be around the pipe. It needs to be in the bottom of the creek out about 10í out from the pipe. The top of the concrete in the creek bed should be flush with the bottom of the creek. So the creek needs to be dug out some. Cover the concrete with good dirt just to cover it up and plant some grass on it.

It will last a lot longer this way.

Over a month later and it feels like progress is going ssssslllllooooowwwww. Iíd so much rather be in the garage but gotta get this shit done.

All the hydro guard finished and re-textured all the walls. They had been patched many times over the years it seems

Say this way for a couple weeks as I needed to pick up tile, had the Montana race to go to and I wanted a damn baca in the pines not doing a damn thing over Labor Day. Following weekend we started tile. Only got half the back wall done by end of weekend (tile setting was new to me and laying out a game plan on where to start and how to attack took up a decent amount of time). Had it nailed down by Sunday though. By mid week I had the back wall done

Went wheeling Saturday and Sunday I worked on my daughters new room (was our guest room). Put up a fake brick wall on her window wall, wife painted the other walls and assembled her new bed. No pics but wife is going for a princess theme.

This week Iíve been busting my ass every day after work to get the walls done in the shower. Finally finished that tonight so Iím rewarding myself with some time in the garage Saturday

Cleaned the washing machine screens so the cycle times will be a little quicker.

Well started on my kitchen a week or so ago.

I removed a few cabinets before taking a picture. Note how the backsplash is setup.

This is why I hate people. Found this after pulling the backsplash down. They didn't even use staples. Just nails and then bent them up. And I didn't take a picture but the boxes were recessed so far that they nailed the outlets to the wood backsplash.

And why would anyone want to use box connectors to protect the electrical wiring??

Fixed correctly now.

Bedroom project is almost done. Roni installed the closet organizer earlier this week, and its full already.
Then the closet doors got installed. Roni still has to paint them.
Finally gave in and asked one of my cabinetmakers on the route if they could make a countertop for the "entertainment center". They did in a day, and to top that off, it was free.

Our timing on our carpet was perfect, it came in Monday. Kole and I went and got it, and I installed it today. First timer, I was praying I wouldnt make an expensive mistake the whole time. I guess its good enough. Just waiting on the floor transitions and threshold.

We should be able to "move in" tomorrow. Its been a long 6 months.

To add, our garage door opener has been progressively taking a dump for the past few months. Its 20 yrs old, so....
Door would open a couple feet, hit a hitch and close back up. Hit the button again, and it would open just fine. Nothing wrong with the track or springs.
Finally got fed up with that crap and bought a 2hp Genie. Enough of this 1/2hp bs. Holee crap, its like Awnold saying, "You are coming with ME!" when that door opens now.
