Hit a axle bar strict over head press pr 185x2. IIRC I have only hit 185 for a single on a regular bar bell.

Also broke down and climbed on the scale to ck the damage, 215... Not as bad as I thought

I’m hitting some sort of cardio 3 -4 times a week until I get tired of it.

How does the axle press compare to the normal OHP? I've been following a physiz program using DUP (their 8 week and 6 week is pretty much the same https://physiqz.com/powerlifting-programs/) and has a decent amount of OHP but was considering switching it with axle to prep for my first strongman competition.

But also not too sure how much OHP is helping out my bench...thoughts?

I believe in training like your going to compete. If your strongman comp uses an axle bar I would train that way exclusively and use other types of overhead as an accessory.

Both my bench and ohp are going up so I’m not sure which helps more I think they complement each other. I also want a strict 225 press so I’m pushing mine as hard as my bench.

Agreed. Axle bar is very different. Hand is more open and it will exploit any weakness you have in upper back and barpath. Odd object is no joke, and you can't train around it.

Well boys, it's been a while since I logged on to our little corner of the internet... Since last time I've put 30,000 miles on the truck (314k at current), and PR'd all 3 lifts without getting fat.

Hit 405 squat for the first time ever 2 weeks ago. BW: 178lbs.

What do yinz guys recommend for pre/post workout. I'm trying to avoid any protein and stick with mostly BCAAs. I was looking at the ON AmiNO Energy, BCAA caps and glutamine powder. I'm getting back on the creatine also.

I use amino energy by ON and I like it.

I use STIM by black market labs for my preworkout and then 2 scoops of amino energy close to midway so I don’t gas out.

Been sick as hell lately so haven’t gotten into gym much since before Xmas so my gains are lost but hoping to be recovered by Monday and start back at it.

Hour long class at Cyclebar this morning, 23 miles, 1400 calories gone. Pr my 45 min average power and beat my hour powr by a bunch.

Deadlifted a little the other day for the first time in many months. Just a light 225x3sx5r felt okish. I’m sticking at 225 for a month or so, feel out my back with that.

Watched Jesse pull 585x15 a couple weeks ago, un f-ing real the strength that guy has

Serious work, brother. What are you working towards recently? Sounds like way more metabolic conditioning work than in the past.

405 bench and a strict 225 overhead press. Maybe single digit bf% and sit at 200 pounds. Can’t really squat or deadlift with my back so just working the things I can
