Pretty sure tq and hp to weight would kill the 454 idea.

Likely out of your price range Adam so Iím not even suggesting it but have you seen any of these out on the road? We might be getting a couple of these to put service bodies on.

International & GM teamed up on that looks like? Be interesting to see how they do.

That's the new Kodiak's basically. Same truck, different grill as the new medium duty's. After Ford cut ties with International, they teamed With GM to build these. International does the trucks and GM does the power train.

The FL is a bigger weight class. Not that he probably would have a problem doing it, it would take some fab work and cost him in downtime

You can't put all the blame on International when Ford was doing all the tuning. The 6.0l held up pretty good for Navistar, but they only pushed it to 250hp. Ford put there tuning on it to keep up with the rest, and the rest is history. Now the 6.4l is just a nightmare. Knew somebody who had one and it was like a boat, break out another thousand everytime you turn around, and his 2 happiest moments with it were the day he bought it and the day he traded it in.

A guy with a 2011 f250 cclb with a blown up 6.7 is willing to sell it for 500.00, he said he'll never buy another diesel. I told him to quit buying fords.

Not to mention they didn't run it as originally designed by Navistar to cut cost. I remember reading that there was an internal document from Ford to Navistar about that which came up in the law suite.

The red 99 C3500HD was originally a 6.5TD/4L85 that got a LBZ swapped in after the crank in the 6.5td broke was probably the most cost effective to run.. minus random breakdowns..

I have a quote from McAllister Chevy out of Cincinnati for a 6500HD (23kgvw) ranging from 70-80k pending RC/CC 2wd air ride..
also have a quote for a Pete 337(31k/class7) with a I9L with 3000RDS Allison 6sp For ~90k.. still have the old quote for the M2-106.. ~90k.. I'm sure a 108SD would be 90k..
Credit is shot has been for a while, especially after bank told me FU back in '15 so I returned the gesture been cash based ever since.. Probably the only thing I could finance would be a home through the VA... Being single with no kids greatly reduced financial requirements.. basically only way I'm get a new truck is cash in hand.. it's doable, and definitely longer than financing.. at least I only have to worry about Murphy's law beating me vs him and the bank..

Changed jobs/carriers beginning of August.. still seeing how things go...I seam to have more disposable income now per settlement.... Bills are getting caught back up and paid ahead, new radiator is at the house, need to cut the driveshaft, run bat wires, fuel lines, replace suspension air bags, cab air bags, NATS is going to turn my 366/74 into a 362/74 with my 362/68.... hopefully can figure out how to blend the harness in..
This 454 has 203k on it got re-ringed ~30k ago.. did compression check.. 5@140, 1@145, 1@150 and 1@155psi.. the stock heads are killing it 2.06/1.75 valves closed chambers with shit intake runners not enough room to open up even for 2.19/1.88 valves
The 454, runs... Definitely doesn't like hills... Basically gross out at ~30k with my Kauffman trailer with 15k on the deck..
It is not a dmax or a 8.3 for sure but will climb 5% grade at 30k gross at 55mph whjyia faster than most fleet truck will do

I was hoping to be back in a FL60 by July, that didn't happen.... Probably run the 3500HD till the end of the year, majority of stuff on the mutt2.0 is taken care of.. its the Nicole/dime stuff that cost $5/$10 or more that is keeping me from jumping back into the FL60..

I do appreciate the links on the trucks

Stroke a 454 to ~496.. ~265 ovals high lift low duration cam... Will do 500/600 HP/TW..
Unless you jump to a 4.47(502), 4.50, 4.6" bore from the 4.25 bore

I'm running a 650 CFM carb, 211/230@.050 cam with .510/.540 lift, tube headers dual 3" to single 4" exhaust.. usually avg 7-8mpg..

Only way is do this, is at least a tall deck 4.5bore with 4.5" crank which would make a 572, stand alone 6sp Allison setup, talking ~10-15k in just the engine would put 600HP and 700TQ at 9:1

No clue how that would turn out on coat per mile lol
