There's a local place that makes steel driveshafts. They are very strong and reasonably priced (~$400 iirc). Everyone that pulls local here runs one. I'll see if I can get the contact info for ya.
I'll be down there. Taking my truck, but I'm not sure if I'm going to race or just spectate. Depends what hoops I have to jump through just to have some fun.
I run 285/50r20's nitto 420S on my factory 20" LML wheels. I was at the track the other day and cut a 1.65 60' leaving at only 8psi with 40psi in each tire.
Funny you posted this, it just came across my Facebook last Wednesday. Now has a suncoast sticker on the side. Pictures can be found at calkins mcbride racing on Facebook.
If you're looking to really lower the front down, put suspension Maxx keys in it. You can reclock them to go very negative. Here's a pic of the angles on my buddy's truck. 4" tuff country on a 2002 gmc. He runs 33x12.50's on 20x10's for daily driving and 35/12.50's on 17x10's for pulling.
It sounds absolutely terrible! My mechanic is pretty sharp on this stuff and him and I are clueless at this point. I figured it would try to even out when you started to drive it, but it stays the same. Even at WOT actual is higher than desired.
We recently picked up an 03 duramax that was having high rail pressure issues when we picked it up. We got the truck back to the shop, changed the regulator, cleared the codes, and is still idling around the 23,000psi mark. Here's where it gets weird; no codes came back. We then thought that the...
Here's the filter setup I had on my cummins. We made the same thing for my buddy's Dmax too. It's the thing that looks like a pipe bomb hanging off the dipstick tube. Just put in a brown brillow pad and it catches most of the soot. When it gets full, change the packing and you're good to go.
A couple buddies of mine run lifts for racing. They both are 4" tuff country's cranked down with negative angles and 5' bars. Nothing special done to the front. One truck went 10.93 in the 1/4 with quite a bit left to go.
Does the truck have an EGR delete? Sounds like busted o-rings in the y-bridge (except for the blue smoke thing, idk about that). That is pretty common when the egr delete tube isn't installed properly. If you had a hole in the piston, you'd know. They pour oil out of every vent on the motor and...
Here's a 4" tuff country lift with suspension maxx keys clocked lower thank stock. Truck is running 33x13.50's with 20x10's and he doesn't have to drop it to pull or race.
