I would unplug the tcm bail connections there's two. And dialectical Greese them. Try that first. Use google on how to do that. The tcm is on the radiator shroud driver side

It probably needs injectors. Balance rates are a good start but don't always tell you everything. It's an lb7 smoking. With 100k plus miles. Mine was smoking with balance rates in check like yours....

I do know the wires get cut or worn around the shifter just under the plastic cover where the key goes. But usually the light won't come on. I would still start there. There's two really small wires.

Have you checked voltage on both battery's after disconnecting. Just wondering if you have a bad one. I've seen a bad battery cause all sorts of issues when a cell is going out in them.

I would take it to someone that really knows them. I wouldn't dare tear into one. Also read up on the housing. If I remember right they cracked on the front bell on the 01s. Might want to upgrade it...

Why not stick with the lb7 put the money into a built transmission. Doesn't seem worth the effort to change over to a lly or lbz.

Run sac style injectors with a tune and should be good to go for...

I forgot. You can drain the water trap into a cut off water bottle and let it sit for a minute. It will tell if the fuel has water or other crap in it. I've seen one bad fuel up cause 5k in damage.

Did they bust the bubble down to metal? If there's a tiny amount of oil or other contaminants it'll keep coming back until it's done right.
