Like others have said, plumb the system and start it up. If the low level light comes on shut it down and fill it up. I think my system should add around 2.5-3qts total with lines and cooler.

Your issue isn't the temperature, it is purely pressure based. It can overpressurize at 120f or 210f, it doesn't matter when the head gasket or gaskets are compromised.

I don't think it would hurt but I also don't think you'll see a benefit. The GPM of coolant flow through that tube is insane so the fluid doesn't sit anywhere near long enough to get any sort of heat...
