i dont remember ever getting 8 into these trucks even on a fresh new engine going in but i also throw 1 gal of coolant in, 1 gal of distilled in, then use either empty jug to do 50/50 mixes.

the ONLY time i could see a switch is a DSP2 for turbo brake or not for towing. Otherwise a single tune can do it all when you put the time in and to build it right. You definitely start to see why...

pull the block drain on the pass side just above the starter (yellow bolt head), that will get any left over non distilled or old coolant out of the block and let you get a real close 50/50 or 60/40...

i wouldnt go much below 1.75" if you sled pull BUT...
