I have a 2005 GMC LLY with 181K miles. A few days ago the ABS-Brake light came on along with "Service Brakes" on the DIC. It will stay on one trip and off on another. I cannot tell any difference in braking. Fluid looks good. From other threads it sounds like it could be the ABS module, but did not see any reference to coming and going as far the lights and DIC message. Anyway to confirm it being the ABS module or any other suggestions much appreciated? Thxs!

Find a way to pull codes. Should see a C0265 I think is the common one I believe. And yes, on my truck it would come and go. Wouldn't come on everyday

Check powers and grounds for the EBCM. The main ground is on the outside of the frame, near the driver's feet.

If you take the control module off the pump you can take it apart and resolder a few connections and that usually fixes it. There are lots of videos online that show which terminals. Ive done this to two trucks and had it work.

Update. Left me stranded. Ignition would turn at all. Steering wheel was not locked. Towed to dealer. No word yet.

My ABS light pops on once in a while. I need to get under the truck and clean that grounding point. Not bad for 18 years in Michigan.....

Sorry about taking so long. l did not get my truck back till Friday of last week and my inlaws were visiting for the holiday. Dealer robbed me on the key cylinder replacement $$$$$$$$. Quoted me $1100 to replace the EBCM. I wire brushed the ground connections and added some dielectric grease. No ABS/Brake light or DIC service light. Thank you!!!!!!!!
