    Unsolvable vibration

Transfer case fluid was fine, plenty full and I'd changed it fairly recently. Front differential fluid was nasty and low (my fault for not checking it right when I bought the truck); refilled with new fluid and the vibration hasn't happened since. Have not changed any other parts. I don't...

LBZ: Not Reported, No MIL Code Still Coming up on Dash

Is it still showing a check engine light on the dash? That's one of a few codes that seem to be thrown sometimes even when disabled; there's a post about it on the efilive forums somewhere.

    Question: Delo SDE?

Delo 400 is pretty common, but I often see it at walmart for about that price or less with free shipping.

    Unsolvable vibration

Good thought; it's a genuine Timken unit but you never know. Will check in the morning. This all started about 5 days after the drivers side front end work... bushings, ball joints, bearing.

    Unsolvable vibration

Separately, all the balancing weights are in place on the driveshaft and the u-joints have about 15k miles on them; OE quality spicer units (non-greasable). This is a regular cab truck so the driveshaft is steel and pretty short. No visible dents or damage.

    Unsolvable vibration

A little play but not terrible. All the steering parts could probably use replacement but nothing is completely dickered loose. And the fact that the noise stays the same when I turn the wheels and go over bumps kind of leads me away from steering, but I agree it does sound kind of like a...

    Unsolvable vibration

Have tried different sets of wheels both stock and aftermarket. Ride height is stock, just replaced all control arm bushings and ball joints on the driver side.

    Unsolvable vibration

I had the same thought too; normally I see them polished shiny but maybe that takes more miles? Probably 10k miles on this ring and pinion. Honestly, I've never had a differential open with that few miles since rebuild. Usually I'm not pulling a cover off until at least 50k or more miles.

    Unsolvable vibration

Yes I've checked since this started; definitely not tight but not terribly sloppy. All the front end parts could probably be replaced but I'm talking probably 1" or so of play at 9 and 3 o'clock. Driver side wheel bearing was just replaced. Passenger has no play at 12 and 6 o'clock. I've...

    Unsolvable vibration

Also just pulled the rear diff cover; fluid was ok with no signs at all of any metal save for a little tiny bit of black sludge on the drainplug.

    Unsolvable vibration

Just drained the transfer case, fluid was OK but definitely some shit floating around in there. No leaks out the rear output shaft, but the transmission shifter shaft seal has been leaking for a while so the whole extension housing/front of transfer case is wet so I can't really tell if it's...

    Unsolvable vibration

The whole front end is a little worn, definitely some play in tie rods and pitman/idler, but nothing insane. I've seen many worse that didn't do anything like this. Then again, maybe it's just the combination of certain parts worn more than others.

    Unsolvable vibration

I've just replaced all the leaf spring bushings. Also just replaced the front upper and lower control arm bushings and ball joints on one side, as well as wheel hub on that side. I did the ring and pinion; it was a new ring and pinion with full install kit (timken or SKF?), bearings, crush...

    Unsolvable vibration

It's got a relatively new (10,000mi?) ring and pinion and all new bearings, and if I run it up on jackstands I don't get any vibration. Then again, the vibration only starts when I go over a bump.

    Unsolvable vibration

I can turn the wheel back and fourth while it's happening and nothing changes.
