Trans fluid and lack of lockup

I'm not trying to get into a fight on the internet, just that I read your problem one way, and I think he read it a different way. I also started off with a troubleshooting suggestion, and he attacked my experience. Upping the power would cause more slip, and bypass the lockup, I get that...

Trans fluid and lack of lockup

Guess you didn't understand what I was saying, nor do I think you understand how a lockup converter works. The converter is not "slipping the clutch" right off the bat. It is a turbine, the trans fluid is the working fluid. At a cirtain point, when several conditions are met (these change from...

Trans fluid and lack of lockup

I have read somewhere that there are conditions that must exist for the TC to lock up, one of which was the amount of "slip" in the TC. I'm just guessing here, but after reading your post, I think I am reading that you are thinking the same thing. So if the TC is slipping more as the trans...

    4" cognito

Wile I haven't done much on the unibodies, I can attest that my 2500 HD and my TJ are far apart. The Jeep suspension is far more forgiving to the shade tree worker. Keep in mind, a great deal of the front end on most jeeps still in production can interchange parts from 70's models. I wouldn't...

the men that built america mini series

I found it to be a good watch, but there are pieces of information that I know were left out, or ignored. An example was the Eads bridge, the reason it took the shape it did was due to tons of restrictions placed on it. Hight was the second biggest one (first being it could not restrict the...

    Question: Fuel cell mounts?

The kit's I'm talking about simply add an access panel that bolts into place. It comes with a tank lid, seal, and bolts. Simple hand tools are used to install it. It also adds more function as you can add fuel pick ups, senders, pumps, or what ever else you might need. My mention of rock...

    Question: Fuel cell mounts?

I don't have any experience with fuel cells on these trucks, but from my experience in general, mount it in the most secure fashion you can do. Relocate the pick up's if needed. There are some fittings we use in the rock crawling, you run 2 pick ups, one at ether corner. There are these pickup's...

    Putting things into perspective

I did a little RC stuff. Have an RC10GT with a .18 engine destroked to .14 for comp, FM remote, and almost every upgrade possible. Haven't touched it in years. My thing now is rock crawling. I am currently rebuilding my 02 Jeep wrangler, with a tire size of 43". That ain't cheap ether.

    Different Battery Relocation

Let me just clarify my post a bit, and I think you might like this. I would add connectors, I have done this to my Jeep for my front and rear winches. Run a second set of wires to the batteries and then these. Simply take a set of jumper cables and replace the clips on one side with these...
