Dorman Stainless Steel Fuel Lines Kit

This thread is about fuel, not brake lines. Good advice though.

Dorman Stainless Steel Fuel Lines Kit

I put a set of dorman lines on my LBZ. The front section is the worst to get in place but the rest is straight forward. The liner in the dorman flexible sections will link if you’re not careful but can be easily flexed back into shape. The flexible sections on mine, at the engine connection...

Does the L5P lift pump work in LB7 fuel tank?

True about them being varied and also true about how they are doing that to help lower stress levels. It’s also done to keep from returning hot fuel to the tank which causes more evaporative emissions. The emissions part isn’t an issue for diesel however.

Does the L5P lift pump work in LB7 fuel tank?

Even gasoline engines have pretty much completely went away from return style fuel systems because of how they work the pumps harder and put more heat in the fuel. I guess is hindsight it’s probably not significant heating but I would imagine that there would still be some, especially cutting...

Does the L5P lift pump work in LB7 fuel tank?

This. And considering how much hot fuel is already being returned to the tank in a diesel, unless you plumbed the return off the regulator back through the fuel cooler, you’re just adding more heat into the tank. My point being, just use a low pressure pump. You don’t need all the pressure. If...

Does the L5P lift pump work in LB7 fuel tank?

I wouldn’t try to regulate 55 psi down to 15 psi or less. That pump would be getting its ass kicked like that.

2002 LB7 Fuel Leak by Cooler

Can’t remember if the cooler comes with the fittings or not. Most times that I see the cooler fittings in bad shape, the cooler isn’t far behind it. When I put all new lines on my LBZ, I was lucky enough to be able to get the lines off the cooler without damaging anything.

2002 LB7 Fuel Leak by Cooler

I would just put a quality set of replacement lines on it. The lines look like they are starting to get rusty anyway.

    Brake Flush

Zero reason to pump brakes just to flush fluid. Do a proper brake bleed and get the air out, it will work fine. A pressure bleeder will speed up a flush but it’s not necessary.

    Factory hitch

If they loose their attachment to the bumper, they will spin the tube in the frame brackets.

    2020 work truck fueling issue

Extend the canister vent to a better location. I would try it with the canister vent disconnected at the canister. Make sure the vent solenoid is open/venting when it should be. If no change, could be a restriction in the tank or pump module check valve issue but unlikely.

New place to burn a hole ina piston. No crack, just hole.

Bummer. That is 100% on the manufacture of that piston.

    Trans build IMO getting hot.

I would have made sure to flush all of the trans cooler lines and external cooler, while the old radiator was out/before the new radiator was installed. If there was debris in the old radiator, everything in that cooler fluid circuit is contaminated.

They are a class 3. Replaced mine with a class 5 Curt.

    High engine temps

Following as I plan to make a few cooling systems enhancements to my LBZ, in the future.
