Default reman power steering pump no good??

my original power steering pump finally decided it had had enough at 252k

so i picked up a carquest reman pump. put it in today, its fine while driving, but slowing down to a stop or turn and try to turn the wheel i have no power steering.

i've checked the fluid and it doesnt seem to be foaming and i havent had to add any yet (not bleeding any air out).

think its just a bad reman pump or do i still somehow have air in the lines?? i've driven it about 30 miles, no wierd noises etc.

going to be pissed if i have to swap it out again

Says he got it from carquest. I personally havent had any luck with stuff like this from the "box" stores. I get my parts wholesale through my dealer so I usually go GM and skip the hassle

My bad, I dont know how I missed that.

If the pump was installed correct and fluid is full its probably no good, If it has a warranty just take it off and get another from them.

x2 prepare to do several more installs before you get a satisfactory one. You will actually have better luck at a junk/salvage yard than at a box auto store for many things...

That, or cough up the dough and get it from GM.

Good luck!
