Default PPE Overhead gauge mount

I know I am going to feel stupid for not seeing it, but I got my PPE overhead gauge console last night and was going to install it tonight and I cant make it fit to save my life. Do you have to cut the peices out behind it that stop it from going in flush or am I just crazy. It didn't come with any instructions so I am lost. Has anyone done this? Can anyone help me?

I bought Mine from socal diesel, not sure if it's the same but all I had to do is remove the cubby, then press it in. It is hard as hell to push in, but it does go, like I said not sure if they are the same, but mine was hard as hell to push in. Good luck

On my truck the cubby had some tabs I had to cut a bit and then heat it up with a hair dryer for a few minutes then push with those girly fingers.

Heat it up!!! I cracked my console putting mine in. It slides out a little on boosted launches now.

The 01 consoles need to have the tabs in the corner trimmed away. Hellraz78 is correct. The 01 consoles are made from a harder plastic. I recommend heating them with a blow drier or setting them in the sun for a little while.

Unhappy Disappointed with PPE

Hey guys, sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I just received my PPE gauge mount today and was disappointed to find out that there is no mounting hardware or instructions. Why did they put the two threaded holes in the back if it's a "press fit?" They don't even have any instructions posted on their site for it. Now I'm smart enough to figure this out, but this is unreal for a unit that cost me $114.50! I guess I'll have to fabricate some kind of mount for it so I don't have any issues during hard launches. Would appreciate any ideas or tips. Thanks!

You don't need to make any mounts. I can launch as hard as I want, and that mount doesn't move. Just heat up the console, push it in, and leave it alone. I've never had a problem with one staying in place, and I've done several.
