They take your stock core harness and take it apart and then put it back together to fit what you said you want. They do them all pretty much on a custom basis per sustomer request is how they explained it to me. I persoanlly did my owm 01 harness and it wasn't that bad to do, but I don't know how much harder the 03+ style would be as I know they made quite a few changes to them in 03+.

PPE will do it as well if you don't want to tackle the task. like henry said it's upwards of 1300 bucks though.

you can do the harness yourself. Its really not that hard. I dont know why companies are selling all these fancy aftermarket "standalone" harnesses when you can take a cheap used factory harness, spend a day working on it, and have the exact same thing...

Yes as everyone said PPE takes the harness and sets it up the way you want it to run what you want.

I can help you out with it. I just took a factory harness and made it "standalone" in my vw beetle that has a gen III chevy V8 in it. The harness that the gen III V8's use is basically identical to the dmax harnesses, I cut out all the non-essential wiring, and then tied it all together and added the basic wires to "interface" the stock harness with any vehicle the engine might go in (battery power, ignition power, check engine light, crank voltage, and data wire for the OBD port)

I wired it all into a custom mini fuse box so you dont have to reuse the huge factory UBEC (underhood fuse box)

On my 01 I basically started with the connector printouts that I got from ALLDATA. Then go through and find similiar circuits as GM doubled up in many areas of them. The nice part is everything has a plug underneath the fuse panel and unhooks. Many of the colors are the same for each type of circuit(red for hot all the time, orange for hot when the key is on and so on). I just took the connector diagrams and went through after isolating and narowing them down and one by hooked them into the fuse panel and got that part out of the way. Then I took and went through and hooked in the control circuits like A/C and guages and then hooked up the throttle pedal. Once you get down to it and get it sorted out(make lots of notes on paper about which wires to cut out and which are duplictaes that can be narrowed down) it isn't that hard.

Heres a few pics of mine while I was doing it. I was lucky and found enough of the discontinued terminals at my local dealer to integrate it into my stock fuse panel. Also a packard crimping tool is a must have if you need to add in any wires to the factory plugs.

As you can see everything comes together in a central point to make your connections all in one area. You have a main budle that goes to the engine, another bundle up to the ECM and a pigtail off for the TCM, and everything comes back to the central point at the underhood fuse panel.
