Default Frame flex

Has anyone boxed in the frame under the cab to help with frame flexing the body lines of the cab and bed? What about solid mounting the cab instead of the poly mounts it's on. Would that help a lot??

solid mounts would tear the body up in a hurry if the frame is flexing. Boxing in the frame would add alot of strength

Thought youd want some flex to allow the truck to hug the ground better? There's a couple 2.6/3.0 Dodge trucks around me that have told me that theory anyway.

i thought that was one of the functions of the suspension????

too much flex in the frame and you will start to have cracks form, especially at the welds

Would you not want to box the frame on a DD?

Weight box is causing that. Box as much as you can and see what happens...

Theres a fine line between to solid of a pulling chassis, and to much flex of a pulling chassis. Is the rear of your frame trussed? You need to box the frame in certain places to add rigidity but remeber every pound of steel you weld on is a pound your losing from the weight box.

If someone wanted to put the time in, I see not false issues from doing it. Not going to cause any more issues than a stock truck already has
