When I get to the house this weekend I'll post it up in another thread so I don't screw this thread up. I am just very competitive I guess I wanna better the DuramaxDiesels team

I realize and I am thrilled my work is helping to cure disease with my grandmother in the final stages of alzimers and watching her decline I will do what I can to help cure these diseases. Thanks for bringin this to attention amazing stuff for sure.

Next, the Dual core Xeon Server.
I meant to type 2x dual core Xeon server.

There are a bunch of computers as part of this team, only some have posted there builds/computers. I'm pretty sure we could all benefit by everyone posting, we could even use all specs to pick and choose new builds or fluff some of our closet processors. I have a bunch of oldies myself, but no idea what to do with them.

Come on, post up

These seem to be kicking out steady ppd judging from your stats.

Just curious if your athlon x4 puts out more than the gt 240? Or, is it the opposite?

the 240 seems to be doing better. I just switched the athlon to the smp jobs so we will see how it does. Hfm now show the 240 to be at 4000 ppd. We had some storms here and the 450 got turned off tonight, I will try to get it back going in the morning but it is at my office around 40 min away.

In the works

Zeon dual core 3.2ghz w/Hyper Threading - (x2) - [ server ] and linux - Windows VM x 8

AMD Quad core Opteron 2360 2.5ghz - ( Also going to try Opteron 2352 HE 2.1ghz ) (x2) with (2) - gtx 460 GPU's at x8 -[ server ] and linux.
May do the windows VM x 15 one thread will be dedicated to GPU requirements for folding. May also try the Windows Server 2003 OS.

More to come as it's assembled.

Hey Pat what mobo did you use for Crzy (the one you showed me on the 26th)? Sorry if you said earlier in this thread.

CrayZ3 is an EVGA SR-2 motherboard. These are the only dual CPU boards I know of that supports overclocking. They are pricey, about $600. IT WILL NOT FIT IN A NORMAL TOWER. You either have customize a large tower, or get the Lian Li PC-V2120. If you don't need to overclock, ASUS makes a ATX Dual Xeon mobo that fits inside a normal ATX case, even a mid size. They are about $260 at NewEgg, IIRC.

The cheapest CPU's worthy of such boards are 4-core E5620's ($384 ea, Westmere with HT) which are what I have in CrayZ2. Stock clocks will make 42k PPD, overclocked about 70k would be my guess. Maybe more. Cheapest 6-core (Westmere) is X5650 which is what I have in CrayZ3, but they are about $1000 each. Good news is they can be overclocked right up there with the $1000 i7-980X. That is good for over 100k PPD average.

Be aware that both Intel and AMD are releasing new server chips in the near future. My timing was really dumb. Prices might fall rapidly on the Xeons if AMD Bulldozer stuff is hot. Intel prices their chips pretty aggressive in the performance areas that AMD runs in. Outside that area, they charge up the arse.

Best Bang for the Buck in Bigadv folding is the i7-950 chip. I turned Tom's up to 4.06ghz easily. It makes up to 32k PPD folding bigadv. The chip is only $290, and the mobo's can be as little as $200 for a "hot" one that has all the O/C tools. Tom's is a MSI Big Bang. This is the chip Intel uses to keep AMD X6 at bay. The other i7 chips are far more money.

PS - That was the last BigAdv for Kat. That one took 3 days to finish. There will be users: CrayZ1 = 4ghz AMD X6, CrayZ2 = 2x Xeon 2.4ghz, and CrayZ3 = 2x Xeon 4ghz.

I'm going to try and figure out how to get CrayZ1 to fold BigAdv. It's fast enough, and stable enough. It's just looked down on by the Old Guard.

PS - CrayZ3 is down right now. I tried to put more RAM in it, and I can't get it to reboot.

Thanks. My next 'main' computer I want to run dual processors but mobo seems to have limited choices unless I go to a Server board and I don't want to that. I'll take a look at the Asus board. Not going to do it right now but sometime in the next 3 months I think.

lil nasty:
NZXT phantom in white
i5 2500k @ 4.8ghz w/CM hyper n520. Keeps things between 65-70 with a 75 ambient temp
Asus p8p67 mobo
8gigs G Skill Ripjaws X
GTS450 @ 920/1840
9800GTEE @ 620/1550 w/accelero l2 pro. Single slot cooling would be nice if it worked.
WD caviar green 750
OCZ stealthXstream 2 700w
2 200's, 1 140, 3 120's and another 200 and 2 120's on the way, removing the 2nd drive cage and putting one there.
Aerocool v12xt monitor and still using the phantom's control for some fans

To be added soon when I get a pcie ribbon extension is a roomate's fried 8800 gts that I brought back to life for a little while via baking, which somehow worked, it stress tested fine for 24hrs at stock clocks The card will be mounted 90* clockwise in the case in front of the mobo.

The wiring has yet to be organized because I am waiting on my parachute cord to get here so I can sleeve them all

Mainly built it because my gf bought me black ops and my old p4 pc couldn't handle it, turns out folding is pretty fun too. Seems to get right around 27.5k-28.5k ppd if I leave it run for 24 hrs straight with little interuption running smp4 gpu3. Was having some problems with the OC voltages but I think they are figure out now.

User chevmeister

My filing cabinet
Old amd athalon 3400+
Asus a8n-e Mobo
2 gb gskill ram
A ton of old harddrives
Wasting electric, but any little bit helps
Making 500-700ppd

Desktop1
I had 3 of these running at one time but 2 have died.
HP POS desktop
Amd phenom x4 1.8
6 gb ram
onboard graphics that like to cook themselves
Makes 1200ppd

And the third machine I have running
I call it KEG1
antec 300 case
750w power supply
Asus p8p67 motherboard
Intel i7 2600
16 gb Kingston hyperX ram
asus GeForce 430 1gb graphics
WD caviar blue 250gb harddrive
It just finished it's first bigadv job in about 50 hours, in guessing around 35k PPD if it can keep the pace.
I'm planning on KEG1 getting a sister, maybe twin sisters....

]

Decided to see if bigadv would work on my i5 since I'll be going home for Easter and it can run uninterrupted for ~3 days.

It works!!! With a tpf of 39ish minutes, and both of my cards still folding
