Default Airdog 165 pump

Went out today to leave and noticed when I turned on the key I did not hear the lift pump. No blown fuses and I have 12v at the pump with the key on. Problem is I bought the truck with the airdog on it, so I have no clue about the warranty card. Anyone else get them to replace the pump?

Doesn't hurt to call and give the serial. Their warranty is really good. If not they will probably sell you a replacement 4g pump for like 200$ so it's worth it either way

No warranty if your not the original buyer or the card didn't get mailed in. You can buy a new pump and get the warranty again.

If AD is not able to warranty your pump; sure they will. I have an updated 165 that have on the bench that I will make a deal on. I upgraded to the 165 4G. The one I have is a year old.

with it out of warranty, it shouldn't hurt to open it up and see if there is something simple like debris stuck in the impeller.

It hasn't popped the fuse but the pump def isn't running. I will have to get the serial number off of it, I'm not sure exactly how old it is. Pm me about the other airdog

Just got to cover the basics just incase and because it's an aftermarket private install. I just wired my Airdog II 165 and ran mine for the hummer about 45 days ago. Going over the basics is always worth a detailed look, especially since they say theirs lasts forever, and it wasn't you who hooked it up initially. As far as fuses and wiring, obviously, it works off a keyed hot circuit, usually plugged into a fuse in the engine compartment. 1. if you've traced the wires back, and all are intact, not fried against a rub point or the exhaust, etc., I've heard of shorts from mice nesting and eating the wires underneath the fusebox in there. 2. Have you unplugged the connection at the pump, checked the pins to ensure they aren't corroded, or just not quite plugged in all the way to make the connection? Put a small amount of electrical grease on them when you check. 3. Check the wired grounds. I believe that even though the pump mounts to the frame, it's a wired ground. 4. have you tried hot wiring the pump off of a continuous hot line? 5. any chance something significant could have been sucked up and lodged into the pump? perhaps an angry X-girlfriend or jealous husband? http://www.duramaxdiesels.com/forum/...es/roflmao.gif 6. Pull the pump. It's all quick connect lines and 4 Allen head small bolts and direct wire to a battery, inspect for obvious external signs, research the easy to do rebuild kit online and go from there. 7. Call Airdog and ask them why their Airdog pump has been running for 5 years straight and yours won't run for 10 minutes to get you down to the beer store and back? All seriousness; Do look online and find out as much as you can about the pumps, wiring, etc. so you have a better understanding of possible issues and solutions.

Best, Ralph

"Update" brand new motor, not part of the group of motors that were trash to many of us.

I checked the fuses and relay. I have 12v at the pump the pump just isn't running. I can pull the pump and check it. It just pisses me off cuz the airdog might be 4 years old but the truck only has 38k miles on it. The airdog may have 15k miles on it. Doesn't it go thru the filter before the pump? If so I wouldn't think dirt is in it. I run the Donaldson filter

Call AD with the serial number, they will tell you if it was part of the bad batch. And give you options, I would sell my 165 for half the cost of a new motor. If you end up having to pay out of pocket.
