Default Fuel level sensor.

Hey guys, well it appears my level sensor went out. Guage is stuck on E with the light on but the tank is full. It was funny thinking I was out of fuel and racing allover to fill up just to find out i had half a tank. (Asshole truck lol) any who, does anyone have a part number for a new sensor or does the whole drop in unit have to be changed? Its an 04.5 if anyone has a part number that would help. I was looking around all night and it pulls up sending units for the gassers.

I have the entire assembly that goes in the tank from a 2006. Let me know if it works and we can make a deal.

So they're FINALLY selling the proper sending unit for our trucks? We dont have to modify something else to work? About damn time.

I believe lb7 is different from 04.5 up. So you'll still have to modify yours more than likely.

According to Rock Auto all the part numbers are the same for LLY and LBZ. Let me know if you want it and you can have the whole assembly cheap.

Oops, typical of GM, the assembly is different at the top. Kennedy diesel has some pictures of the LLY and LBZ differences.

I used a AutoMeter 3262 Universal Fuel Level Sender and rescaled it in efi live so the gauge was more lenear. It is just a sender so I left the fuel pickup in place.

Have you done anthing to the truck around the fuel cell or under the fuse block? I know when i pulled the cab on mine, i bent a pin on the connector under the fuse block. Strange things did not work.

You can reach the plug on top of the tank and try bridging it with a resistor to see if it changes in the cab. If it does, then its the sending unit, if not, then its something else.
