Default MLG vs MLG-K

Mike,

What's the difference between these two converters? I know you mentioned it to me when I stopped by last week but I think you said the stall was higher on the K. What are the stalls for each?

Thanks
David

I absolutely love the K. ~200 miles on it.

Thanks for any help or advice.

Towing can be done with the K version. It takes a few rpm to get the load moving, but is doable. I had close to 30k miles on mine towing 8-11k.

It is not a towing converter, but it will work.

The G converter is a tight converter and stall would probably be around 1800/1900. It is not for big singles or high altitudes.
The K is around 2500/2800 stall. It's an amazing converter considering how it couples so hard after launch.
Verlon has had a lot of experience with racing the K and towing with it. Dustin has had a lot of experience racing the K also. There are only 5 out there right now but there will be a lot more pretty soon.

i got a question, what do you consider high altitude? anything above sea level? im at around 3-4k feet

and from what ive read the K converter would be great for twin/triple setup much more over a single? as you stated.

Dustin, is that with your new twin setup on the white truck or is that not finished yet?

I've been racing on the k all season with my old set up that was including the 10 sec passes.

The new set up with finished yesterday and I'm going to pick it up this weekend so I'm very excited to see how it acts with the new gt5541/gtx4202 set up.

I have "stalled mine to 2600 but over 2300 it breaks all tires loose, don't need to push the converter that hard when I don't need to.
stall is only half the story. The part throttle coupling unlike any other converter ive ran.

The K runs 1495.00 with core exchange.

Mike,

If I wanted a K, how long does it take to get one and could I get it at a stall around 2300 instead of 2600?

Thanks
David

No can do. I would suggest a Suncoast 1055 for your needs.
