What if they don't post in the for sale section? The majority of new people don't post in the correct section anyways. It's a good idea tho

I would give them a warning then if they posted something for sale again in the wrong section they get the boot. By making a post count you force people to be a part of the board and contribute. The amount of people with 1 post selling crap and or getting us to fix their problems then they are never heard from again is getting out of hand

There is a giant ass warning at the top of the garage sale section warning people about new posters. Ya’ll are grown men (I think lol), make an educated decision before you buy from a newb. Making them post more doesn’t always help, seen it on another forum I’m on many times

Besides, the last two "dishonest" sellers were longer-time members.

Unfortunately, you can never know a person's motives....

Best advice I can give is "caveat emptor" - Let the buyer beware.

The only thing bad about minimum posts is people with do them all in one day doing “hi” or some crap on every thred to the magic number.

The garage sale area was not intended for profit or personal gain it's meant for long standing members to get deals on parts from other long standing members in a no hassle exchange.

More than half of the threads up I wouldn't even consider buying from because I don't trust the low post count people I've never seen post anywhere else before.

Those long time users were not frequent posters though.

I look at someone's post count and frequency of posts then I look at their posts to see what they are actually posting about. Basically if I recognize their name and they are a frequent poster of non-retarted content I'll buy from em.

I bought a part from a member a few days ago and gifted the money because that's how confident I am in who I was buying from
