I prefer the 69-72 hood/front compared to the 67/68 but I LOVE those trucks regardless. Putting it on the more modern chassis is 100% the way to go. Looking forward to seeing this come together.

I was originally going to buy a 72 but due to scheduling conflicts I was unable to go get it. Then this one popped up for the same price and almost no rust so it was a no brainer.

For the sake of simplicity and using a Duramax yeah definitely the way to go but for performance and a gas motor I'd still use the original frame there is a bigger aftermarket for them. Regardless it's gonna be one hell of a truck when finished.

Was planning on welding in the new mounts on the cab yesterday but found some rust I need to address first. Patch panels are on the way.

Anyways had a little time tonight to work on it so I got the drivers side frame mount moved back.

Cool build. Are those Weld Renegade wheels I see? They look just like mine except yours are still chrome, and they don't look like 20s.

Very nice. Don't see too many pre-American Racing Welds anymore.

Passenger side mount moved, also got the passenger side frame cleaned up where the mount was. I can't feel my hands at the moment so I'm going to do the drover side tomorrow.
So naturally I had to lower it down and see if they would work. Right now it is just sitting on 12s ran across the rubber cab mounts. It will be mounted about an inch higher than you see here.

Love that stance, especially since its 4wd.

Got the box sitting on the frame. I don't have to raise the floor as much as I had planned. I'm going to notch the supports for the box ~2.5 inches and then raise the bed floor 2 inches because it too simple to not do it because it all just bolts together. It should cover almost half the frame. I've always hated the amount of frame showing on the hds.
