Progress recently has been a lot, although it feels like I haven't done anything. Installed new flywheel and clutch, waiting on slave cylinder now. Installed lml exhaust manifold and I've modified the mounts for what is hopefully the last time. Since my last post I've also received a fass 150 for fuel supply, and a set of Dakota digital gauges for the truck. Still waiting on wiring harness and hopefully I'll get to where I need it at about the time I'm done with everything else.

What master cylinder are you using? Have you verified it has enough displacement to operate the slave cylinder?

From what south bend said, they claim that the master from a late 80s Chevy truck will work. I will find out very soon.....I find it kind of hard to believe.

Is the truck already a manual trans truck? Mechanical or hydraulic?

The truck is a manual truck, but wa a mechanical clutch. I've robbed the hydraulics from another truck, pedals and all for this swap. 65 dollars for full assembly at the junk yard. Had to remove it myself. Tonight, I finished modification of motor mounts (if what I've done works, these mount can be purchased fairly cheap) I also installed a new throw out bearing/slave cylinder. Now the motor and trans are mated back together. Then I started welding on the cab at the seams since I cut the "cab lip" off for clearance.

I have a big us brake master cylinder I thought about trying on my truck instead of the stock setup, holds way more fluid. And for a toy maybe I can get a shorter stroke out of the pedal. Just be careful it doesn't push to much fluid as you might damage your throw out bearing\slave cylinder from trying to stroke it to far, you could always add a pedal stop I guess.

I'm located in Ponca City, Oklahoma. And I'm not sure on the stroke yet, that's something I haven't fully researched, I may end up using a stock master cylinder just to eliminate any problems there, I'd just have to modify things slightly.

When I was gonna go ZF6 in my truck (still have everything to do mine either way) and was looking into the MC situation, when you see a picture of a MC from a GMT-800 truck, you'll see it won't just bolt in. It fastens to the firewall in an unusual way. Obviously anything can be fabbed to work but it won't be super simple.

Something I never could find was the dimensions of the GMT-800 MC to find a comparable one that will bolt in. I've seen where some folks who swap a cummins into a square body use a 2nd Gen Dodge MC but it needs a wedge piece added to it IIRC.

Anyway, I'll just be curious to see what you end up with to get a functioning setup.

And here I am, can't even find a zf to replace the one I broke lol. Much less attached to an engine. Would be cool in my 80 c10 though
