This is a good question. We have yet to bite the bullet and go to dry sump, but the benefits to it in our situation our huge. What will your application be? CompD might be the place to ask that general question, in the sled pulling section.

I'd have to measure for sure, I think we have a 3.5 gallon tank.... But you only fill it just over half full, we run about 2 gallons of oil in it.

My tank, mandrel, and pulley's came from Jones Racing Products.... I run a large billet filter head that uses Motorcraft 7.3 filters...

We ran a dry block, so I wanted more oil to carry & dissipate heat, you can run as much or little as you are comfortable with to my knowledge.

Do you use a oil preheater?

Nope, we start the truck a few trucks before we pull, usually right after rolling off the scale....The oil tank will be warm/hot before we wind 'er up

This is what we do. Filled block & solid heads with stock wet sump. Just have to be careful because with the oil trapped in the engine still, oil temp rises quick and takes eternity to cool off after runs. Need good batteries cuz you end up starting, shutting off bunch of times prior to pulling. Have yet to have a problem, but I'm sure it's a lot easier with dry sump.

Somehow I missed this question sooner.....

5 stage, 4 stages sumping from PPE oil pan and 1 pressure stage from reservoir to oil cooler block off plate for engine supply

They make an adaptor the mounts to the front of the crank, you have to remove some of the damper bolts and they get replaced. You come off the side of the engine with the mounts for the pump. You can mount driver or pass side. You have to let them know what side when ordering the pump the mounts are not the same. You can play with the pulley sizing to get the oil pressure where you want it to be. Jones racing sold me the adaptors and vac pump setup for mine. They are very helpful with their products

I made my own right-hand side block mount....

-16 from tank to a washable SS filter/prescreen to keep debri out of pressure love of pump, then -12 to a billet filter head & 7.3 diesel filter and -12 to SoCal oil cooler delete plate...
