Default Using a sump instead of a sending unit?

Alright guys. My sending unit is rusted to crap and it looks like I need to replace. Any chance I can use a sump and a lift pump instead of buying a new sending unit and just leave the old unit in after its cleaned up? Dont really want to buy a new one since I would rather draw from a sump. Thanks in advance!

We do it all the time. Use a Beans Sump Only. Almost all others leak.

I installed a xdp fuel sump 1 year ago along with airdog 4g 165 pump kit. Nice sump. No leak.. car is in a garage.. no spots on floor. But used locktite on every bolt, and gasket maker between orings, and gasket maker on the part inside tank..

I've used a beans diesel sump on my dodge for two years now. When I get an airdog for my lmm, a sump is the only way I will go.

I always use the G&R one with the return built in makes for an easy install.
