you might make sure your blend door is staying on recirc too. im having issues with mine randomly changing to outside air and i cant change from "vents" to defrost or anything else. even tried a new switch unit and no change so something screwy is going on. anyhow, when its on outside air, air out the vents is noticeably hotter obviously.
Refer levels on point, most likely a blend door because it gets bad randomly like you said but it's mostly in stop and go

More info there?
I understand I live in hell but with big ass coolers temps should be lower

These were in stop and go traffic in 115* I don't drive it above 110* usually. I shut it down but it was climbing 2* per minute

oh damn! mine never gets that hot and i actually drove it today. sounds like you got a shitty 2886 like adam had and ferm had. the clutch is available off kennedy engineering. My brother is running it and i think Mike put it on his truck before he passed away. they just cost more at 175 bucks

Kennedy diesel has a special calibration fan clutch he has made to his spec. Mine seems to kick in around 205-210 running 70, but locks in at redlights, I also found it seems to be much more aggressive coming in once it starts coming on.

That just seems a little late to lock in at 205 on the freeway I never get that high but in stop and go it would definitely help a ton

Have you checked to make sure your cooling stack is clean? You might be surprised how much junk can collect in a radiator over years of driving.

I did a comparison of the 2, and I can tell you it's more than just a spring change. I compared 2 stock replacement hayden's and his, and the 2 stock styles were the same, but there were some subtle differences in the clocking of the shaft of his, how far it rotated, where it sat in the cold position, and the springs were obviously different.

Your stats aren't even full open at 205. I posted up screen shots before from the manual, but rear starts at 180, front at 185, bypass closes at 212, but both stats aren't full open until 230 degrees. So at 205 you're only getting maybe half flow through your radiator.

The low temp mishimoto stats are fully open at 190
