I dunno. I haven't done an LB7 yet, but from seeing an LB7 nozzle, I'm guessing it's the same design with different P/N's.

Well, leave it to me I lost a shim and am still looking for it-yea right. What options do I have? Can the shim be obtained from Bosch?? If so does anyone happen to have the p/n for an LBZ? I should have known this would happen to me

I do not believe you can buy the shim seperatly, I think you will have to find and used injector to buy unless some one here has an extra they can hook you up with???

Well, I guess all my prayers were heard. We found the shim under the bench after about 2 hours of crawling on the ground. I ran out of good o rings though, and they can't be found either. Guess I'm down till mon at least.

I thought I lost the shim so I called Brayden Fleece and said he had them in stock and could get me a new one. It turned out though that it was in one of the other holes in the injector so if you think you lost a shim try holding a magnet over the injector in question, you might find it.

I know this is a tip swap thread, but thought i would mention injector bore cleanliness. I had my injectors replaced under warranty by the dealer. 1 year & about 4,000 miles later (service truck got a ton of miles) I decided to do tips.

All the tips pulled out easily by hand except for one. Borrowed a gm injector puller, broke it. Ended up having to put the fuel line back on and pry the injector back and forth in the bore holding up pressure on it with another pry bar. Took me 4 hours to get it out. The body was completely caked with carbon & soot. Took a look at the copper sealing ring and it had a large black dent in it, there had been a piece of carbon stuck under it from the previous replacement.

Cleaned the bore with gm bore brush but couldn't get the bottom of the bore clean (carbon). I used a new wire brush (bottom needs to be square) and a small piece of red scotch brite. This was mounted on a drill. USING EXTREME CAUTION remeber the heads are soft aluminum I lightly touched the scotch brite to bottom of the bore, only touch it enough times to remove the carbon.

Just a word of caution is all, stuck injectors can be a b__tch.

If UPS ships on Friday I could overnight you some tomorrow and you'd receive them Friday.. Call the shop if you need them.

Got new tip seals?

I picked up a o-ring assortment at Harbor Freight. I found a size that was REALLY tight on the body and they work fine, and the whole assortment cost less that 2 pieces at GM.

I reuse the coppers by taking a piece of 600 sandpaper, and polishing them on a flat surface with my index finger. Use a circular motion. You will see when they get flat, as the dark ring will vanish.
