The 3794 with my 68mm wheel is one of my oldest builds, it was originally called my 68mm Stg2 for the last 10 years. It is good for low 700-750hp range. Garrett was a little late to the party, lol. Let me know if you guys have anymore questions and I will try to get you taken care of!

Where exactly does the 3794 over rule the 68 stg2 r then? Everything I have read, always leaning away from the 3794 but you still sell them. If the 2.5 lly based turbo you sell is faster then stock spooling and flows better, why would others just not purchase that, then if they want more, purchase the 68 stg2r?

Theres a small gap of info I am missing.

Because people always thing they need bigger but most don't have the parts to support the bigger options. You always want to chose the turbo that will be at 75-80% of it's ability at your peak goal because it will keep it fun to drive. If you go too big then it sucks everywhere. The difference between the 68mm 3794 and my stg2R is the turbine size, the Stg2R is a 2mm larger turbine which is great for topend power but not as great for lowend power. The highflow vanes are great for tuning and they flow more air at the same vane position which translates to angle of attack on the turbine. Hope this helps guys. Thanks again!

I do and as far as I know I am the only one that actually stocks them on the shelf also. They are $499.

Is the stock 3794 wheel on the tipping point already, as far as spool up? I'm surprised a hair bigger turbine on the stg2r wouldn't help out the low end. Yes there's more mass to move I suppose, but also more leverage.

Is it 2mm bigger on the inducer and the exducer? Or only one?

The problem with the stock 3794 compressor wheel is that it is a 68x94 fat hub wheel that was contoured down to 65mm and that is a big no no. This issue with running a larger turbine is yes it is more leverage but it also lets more air get past it before it forces it to work so it causes more lag especially at cruising speeds so it is a trade off. It is larger on both measurements. Turbos are a balancing act.

Mark is there a better drop in wheel for the 3794 without killing the low end or going to a 68mm?

I have a batmowheel for them that I changed the design of and made the hub smaller and the inducer taller. It is the wheel that comes in my BMW GT3794Va Stg2 turbo and is good for up to 740hp and has great manners.

Thanks, is there any difference on the turbine side over a stock turbo on size?
I thought it had the 10 blade turbine already just didn't know if it was any bigger?

It is a 10-blade LLY sized set up, same as I have used for 10 years on my stg2's.

So the difference in price between a stg2 r 3794 68mm wheel vs the stg2r 68 that comes with vanes and standard 68 is very minimal. So in a case if someone had Interest in the choice of them two turbos, has a goal of 600hp-700hp, horsepower goal before I crack a piston and in the future for after lol. I don't want to have to upgrade, but I still want to be able to tow, but want a top end pull as well. (Don't want twins) love a strong turbo brake

What would be the best choice. Lol I know this seems ridiculous because it's probably coming off like I want it all, I'm trying to understand better on my future purchases.

Like others said, seriously enjoying this help and info
