Default PCV reroute

these are pics from my LLY, i will post pics next week from doing a LBZ

Basicly, if you do not want you intercooler boots and lines coated in oil or your turbo DO THIS MOD you can do this for under 10 bucks and a 1/2 hour of you time

1 thing if you want to return it to stock Dont do it like i did and simply install a 90* on the bottom of the hose going into the turbo intake and cap your intake

as for the cap on the intake i used a bar stool leg cap ( floorsaver) came in a pack of 4 and cost about 3.00

i did have a 90* on the bottom of my vent hose, but it would always leak a bit of oil so i just cut both sides of the hose coming off the valve covers and installed a couple push on nipples and a "T", I then bought a chunk of hose long enough to reach the bottom of the truck and cut the bottom at a angle
kinda like are old dirt bikes so it cant get plugged or freeze up

hope these pics help, and i will continue to add to this post

Thanks for the info Simon, i'll do mine tomorrow and post up some additional before and after pics. I do have a little oil leak on the passenger side intercooler boot. Glad to know there is a fix for this, the dealer basically told me to live with it, its a normal problem and deosnt hurt anything.

IMHO this should be done the day the truck leaves the dealer for the first time it will also help to prevent your intercooler boots from coming off under high boost and help keep the underhood looking good

parts list:
1- barstool leg cap as seen in the previous post that goes onto the LLY stock intake
you do not need a hose clamp for this
3- 5/8"s pushon king nipples or barbed nipples
3- hose clamps for 5/8" hose
1- 5/8" T
1- 6' piece of 5/8" heater hose
teflon tape is optional
beer is optional, but highly recomended

Tools
5/16" socket and ratchet or flat screwdriver for the hose clamps
razor blade or sharp knife
couple zip ties again optional

this is if you want to do it my way and there will be no returning to stock, But i have never had GM say anything about this mod! the LB7 is allready set up similar to this
and no i do not get oil dripping on the driveway from doing this mod

here is a picture of the stock set up and the barstool plastic cap and the barbed nipples i was refering to

Default Part 2

Cut factory hose, remove cap from turbo inlet, and install 7/8" barstool cap.

The 1" cap would probably work, but I used a rubber mallet to tap the 7/8" cap in place.

Notice oil residue around inlet?

Default Part 3

1st Beer finished

Wrap threads in teflon tape, then insert into Tee adaptor. Put hose clamps on hoses and insert hoses into barbed ends. Now figure where to route long piece of heater hose, but first cut bottom of hose at an angle as Simon posted in the original thread.
