3.5 is a runner. Exhaust and a tune and they are a monster.

Biggest thing is do 3-4K oul changes and use Ford filters. Don't run aftermarket shit on it.

My wife has the 3.5 ecoboost in her Explorer and it runs like a raped ape man.

Yeah. I should have mentioned that, I have always ran motorcraft filters and Mobil 1 full synthetic, change oil every 3k miles.

They have plenty of power when not loaded, I was driving one a 3.5 2015 f150 from work I was coming with almost 2k lbs on the bed of the truck it was just my tool box reason I know the axact weight because I weight it before heading out from Colorado to south Texas, on flat roads will run great, going uphill could not keep up with speed limit, mileage sucked and had a misfire on cold mornings, and it was new I got it with 800 miles

We have sold dozens of them without one power train problem at all. Seem to be a great truck. Towing ~4k there is no comparison between a 5.3 and these. The torque comes on so low in the rpm band. Much more room in the cab than ram and especially Chev.
Runs sooo extremely well. No gear searching and abrupt kick downs when cruising in hilly country. I hate Ford's but I'd own one of these.

There's a few cops at my gym and they all have the ecoboost escapes. The one cop told me they top out at right under 150 mph. Them things gotta run.

Mine got this up to 60mph almost as well as my lly. After 60 she was working hard though. Mpt 93 Oct tow tune. It just didn't feel stable in corners or stopping unless the trailer brakes were set way aggressive.

It's no chevy :P. But for any non hd work it'll be fine. Honestly, over 8k lbs you're kind of pushing the limits of the 1/2 chassis. Yeah they are rated for more but it's a different ball game than a 3/4 or 1ton diesel. Even with all the trailer assist stuff.

My 5.3 always felt very strong. Better driving feel than my buddies eco boost. Not nearly as quick though. I only towed with the economist once and it did just fine. Are you getting rid of your Duramax for this or just adding to the fleet?

Yep, I put my truck up for sale locally last night. I've had the ol truck for 12 years. Gonna be weird if/when it sells. My wife's is identical accept its stock (no tuning or built trans) so I'll still have a duramax and I still have a mountain of parts and donor truck to convert the 83 if I can ever get going with that.
