I have nothing useful to add other than, hi google, I'm replacing my Allison rear extension housing.

Find another transmission. Sell that one to someone you really hate.

LOL WV, good idea... I didn't get around to dropping the pan or fluid yet but I've already began my search for a used trans. In yalls opinion what's a fair price?

I have a guy ready to sell me one for $1200 that supposedly has 208k on it, might jump on it since it's a lot harder to find the 6-speed.

Depending on your money lol buy a build kit and have someone professional install it. Ppe has one for 2800 including a tq convertor.

The last six speed I bought, I paid $350.00 for it.

Wow that's cheap, was it fully working or you only bought it to rebuild? I'm still stock and dont really plan to upgrade anytime soon, so Im just going to install the trans as-is more than likely.

What part of East Texas? Depending on what all is damaged, it may be cheaper to fix your transmission than it would be to buy the used one for $1200.

That's not enough to fix the damage to planets.

Update on my situation, I finally got around to dropping the pan....no metal. I wouldve rather seen metal because now Im worried Im wasting my time replacing the whole trans...any advice is appreciated from here. And a big thank you to all helpful responses so far.
