Default Duramax lb7 with 285,000 miles?

I bought a 2003 duramax with 285,000 miles everything run greats barely any rust. Has had new injectors from industrial injections new intake and fass fuel system with an edge tuner. Has a lift kit which I don't care much about to be honest on 35s. I bought it for 9,500 and I'm just wondering if that was a good deal? How long I should expect it to last because I plan on maintaining it well and keeping it. I pull heavy equipment like skid steers and back hoes. Should I not pull with it and get a newer duramax with it?

You stole that truck. At least you did with pricing in my area. Ditch the edge tuner. Figure out what injectors were put in it (stock, .30 etc..) and get EFILive. If your trans is stock then only get trans safe tuning. And if you don't like the lift kit then take it off and put stock size tires on it. Your trans will thank you if you're towing a lot. As far as how long it lasts, if you really want it to last then put it as far close to stock as you can. A small tune will be okay. The FASS and the intake are a plus for making it last. Make sure you. Change your fuel filter with a very very low micron filter and change it very regularly. The injectors still won't last forever but that will make them last longer. Also make sure your cp3 is and stays healthy. I don't see why you'd ever have to worry about how long the truck will last. Routine maintenance along with your usual wear and tear should be your only issues as long as it was taken care of before you purchased it. I'll never forget when I first got mine the miles concerned me till a guy pulled up in an LLY and we got on the subject of miles. His had 525k and a,l he had done was a new flywheel according to him. Or course it was bone stock.

If you do decide to tow with it, i would most definitely build the trans. And consider a slightly bigger turbo or a small set of twins. Of course when you start playing with air, youre playing with fire with your bottom end.

The paperwork said 100 horsepower dragonfly cp3 and ok I will ditch the edge tuner. I sold my lbz to help buy a house and bought this truck and looking to buy a newer one with it like an Lmm. The truck will definitely be maintained well and will build the trans. I'll also buy a cat filter I just didn't think I'd need to wit the fass. Definitely will be buying a Danville turbo for it and EFI Live.

Don't necessarily need the cat filter. Just as long as the filter in the fass system is a high quality one. But the cat filter in addition is a pretty good insurance. I'm curious as to the cp3 however. I would definitely verify this. Also check your injector size of you can. Because a built pump means you'd have a custom tune to support it. And if you have an edge tuner then that's not custom. Wonder if it's an edge insight programmed to switch tunes instead of a dsp5. Also you can check out getting just a cover instead of a new turbo. Such as the LDS 63.5 cover and wheel. A much cheaper option IMO.

The tuner on it is a juice with attitude edge evolution with 6 tunes stock mileage tow drive race extreme and hot tune. I'll check more into the injectors though. Not sure when the last time the fass filters have been changed but I did by a wix fuel filter that I'll swap for cat. Did notice a little white smoke at first in idle but after driving it it wasn't smoking at all unless I put it in extreme or hot tune it smoke black.

If it eases your worries I'm at 311000 on my 02, nothing but level kit, nictane, intake and exhaust. Original injectors (granted they are finally starting to haze off and on), and only replaced trans line clips alternator and starter. Owned it since it had 78 miles on it pulling a triaxle toy hauler to MX races around the country for most of its life. Still runs like new. All filters changed at oil change and running cat filter on the adapter.
