May '24 Chat -- MayDay, a holiday or a cry for help?

Shit $1k is cheap, probably have that much in parts Probably the band, used in 2nd and 4th. Could be a lot of other small stuff too, plenty of places for hydraulic leaks. With those miles if I rebuilt it I'd throw a Sonnax valve body on it, they run around $500 themselves

    Stroker pump differences

I believe removing the front aluminum housing to change seals is pretty straight foward. Been years since I ripped one apart for curiosity, but I don't remember anything special

    Grand Tracker continual build

Pretty extensive. At first I thought you were transplanting the twin beam setup, not the whole frame section. Is there a specific reason to run the twin beam?

    Got Sludge?

For class 8 trucks that see tons of miles, there's always companies that will do extended drain. The money you save paying a shop (or your own tech) to do a service when running 100k miles a year (and 10-12 gallons of oil) makes up for an engine overhaul. Less maintenance costs and less downtime.

April '24 Chat --- Got Jokes?

Sorry I forgot to follow up on this... Everything was installed correctly, the 17mm spacer is correct for the early units. It ended up having the revised p3 carrier with the spot face for the larger T6 bearing, but still had the early p3 sun gear. Something I took for granted and should have...

Sounds like a lot, but I have zero clue. How much are the guys spraying that run the blue S&S sponsored car? I wouldn't have guessed it would run that hot at that AFR

Yes. But I suppose it depends on how much he's already spraying

April '24 Chat --- Got Jokes?

Well looking through parts lists it appears there are two different sun gear spacers (17mm and 21mm). I'm going to assume the 17mm was with the 6spd gear train update but need to confirm that unless someone here has an extra they can measure.
