Been fighting this dumb issue for a while. Replaced ITBC and trailer brake control module (above spare tire) to no avail. Fuses are all good, all I have accomplished is put a stop to the incessant dinging from the dash.
When towing, all lights work fine but zilch for the brakes. Could it be...
Looking to see if anyone has installed the Fass Drop In filter set up on a 17 and up truck?
The stock set up does leave a bit to be desired, so I’m looking into the Fass. The VSE system looks nice as well, but the Fass is good bit cheaper.
Thoughts?
I’ll get right into it. Looking to do a drain and fill on my 19. Mr James kindly enlightened me to the fact that the 17-19 L5Ps coolant capacity is 31.5 quarts -- quite a bit more than the 01-07 trucks that I have worked with in the past.
Question is, after watching a few videos, seems all that...
I was looking at that as well, James. Just picked up a 19 and would like to stay compliant emissions wise. Would like to see how they work before getting one.
Anything 08 and newer needs to get hot and stay hot.
Good deal. Excess idle time is the achilles heel for ALL new diesel powered equipment, semis, pickups, and so on. Cat, Cummins, ford, GM, doesnt matter. None can handle excessive idling.
Looks great. It’s rare anymore to see a GMT900 without some form of rust around the wheel arches, rockers, etc. Sucks because they are good looking trucks. Wish GM hadn’t gone el cheapo on them.
Well this makes me nervous. I just ordered a Fass 100 for my 06. Had an Air Dog on my 15, but went down a YouTube rabbit hole and the Fass duo had me convinced.
I have to agree on the 01-07 seats. My 02, 04, and 07 were all plush. I didn’t appreciate the simplicity or the layout of the older trucks interiors either.
The new trucks are absolute beasts as far as towing now. Cooling capacity, brakes, frame etc. I still cannot decide between a 17-19 or a...
