Looking for a picture and the difference of the LB7 and the later style pistons.

Thanks Bdsankey yet again for posting! That clears it all up in one post! As you have suggested I will be using a cast piston, delipped is out. So my choices have boiled down to 1st choice is a Fingers oval cast Mahle motorsports, and a tie for second place being the pistons that Mr Wagler use...

Anybody run a LLY VVT turbo with a waste-gate actuator controlling the vanes?

Thanks BDsankey, mine is a LMM, but for those who find this thread, there are mods to take that same board to 53 and 58Vs, if that helps the 01-05 guys.

Anybody run a LLY VVT turbo with a waste-gate actuator controlling the vanes?

Thank you so much for the Speeduino lead! It has a VVT pin out I will not need to rig/run a manual VVT. Also found a readily available truck 48V driver board for the injectors and it is as low as 36.00. Have more research to do, when I get closer I will post a thread on the Duramax Tuning...

Looking for a picture and the difference of the LB7 and the later style pistons.

I am confused, I thought those where the same as what Jeremy Wagler is using and they had oval bowls. Sooo is there a race cast oval bowl and can someone post a part number? Thanks Again, Moly it is, rather than trying to find another block I would rather replace rings. What is drop of a...

Slow Unfinished Hot Rod Build/LMM Extra-cab 3500 WT Cab and Chassis frame and engine/ZF-6 trans/Body??????

I will drive for a good shop, just checked out the nearest machine shop and got flashbacks from the machine shop I worked at when I was in college, even looked to have the same vintage machines, (our crank grinder had a serial plate from the Regia Aeronautica {a war prize} dated 1942! I know...

Thanks for the replies I have been busy with researching the ECM end of things and it is getting interesting. I will be going with the race cast LML pistons. Which ring material did you use in the 300k motor? Thanks

Slow Unfinished Hot Rod Build/LMM Extra-cab 3500 WT Cab and Chassis frame and engine/ZF-6 trans/Body??????

Very disappointed in the quality of "parts changers out there after my son and I tore this engine down. I hope there is a special place in hell for the guy who would use a worn out hex bit socket on an impact for removal and installation and even reused 4 that he had to use a chisel to remove...

So many great replies! Thanks! Almost all of the engines I have built in past have had two musts and that was Cloyes timing set and Melling high volume pump. I am sad to hear that Bdsankey and Chevy1925 have had issues with them, as even great companies do from time to time. I am happy that you...

This discussion is GREAT! I am learning alot and others who search this subject will also! So Thanks to everyone who is participating! I wonder if other than the South Korean manufacturer issues, if the problem could be addition of the pin bushing decreasing the material above the pin boss...

Thanks for the clarification on the places that the ARP bolts are needed. Thanks again, it is a very early LMM. I thought it was only the front cover, As it is much more involved than I was lead to believe, I will follow your suggestion with the pinned and shimmed pump. The main reason is...

Thanks for the prices, they are higher in my small town that I live in. There is only one machine shop and they know it and charge accordingly:( I am going to try San Antonio shops.
