My passenger window quit working yesterday. It was making a slite grinding noise before, about 20k miles, but now it won't move at all. It will not move with either switch, but when using the driver switch you can hear an click or "arcing" type noise-probably the motor activating.
I don't know if the problem is in the switch, the motor, or the regulator and cables.
Anyone have this problem or know where to start diagnosing?

You have to open it up to see if the motor is shot or a wire snapped.
I have a never been used motor if you want

Thanks, I'll let you know if I need it.
I have one off the drivers side of an 02 suburban if they are the same motor.

Update...finally :D
I tore into it today (now that summer is here and I want to put all 4 windows down) with a new GM regulator ready to go in. Got the panel off and inspected the regulator and cables...didn't seem bad.
Pulled the assembly out and it was fine, then took the motor off and plugged it in...no go.
Luckily I still had the window motor from my Dad's Suburban, but it was driver's side. I tore it apart and attached the motor to the "drive" off my right side motor and reassembled...window goes up and down now.
The bad motor was rusted solid. I had to put it in a vice to get it to try and move...turns out that was the grinding noise I had been hearing.
