Ya hes defiantly got a big body, he popped up 10-15 yards from the the camera when I was pulling the Sd card out. I hope I didn't scare him out of the area now.
Deer on the Cape usually don't have wide or tall racks, the woods are thick as hell with briers & puckers. Alot of basket racks running around

nice. speaking of trail camera pics...these were pretty cool (from a local forum)
For those of you that have never hunted in South Texas, sometimes we post motion detector cameras at our feeders/tanks to see what is going on - check out this sequence at a water tank.

Noreaster, looks like a good mature buck...he may be older than you think (rack may be on downturn 6.5+)...hard to tell 100% from those pics though. As far as spooking him, he should stick there if not pressured immediately or pushed farther...most time they will only run a 20+ yrds and stop, if not pressured they will cautiously return. An old matriarchal doe won't forget so easy. Mature bucks have a tendency to go nocturnal once pressured, the rut will bring him out of this.
I like to snort-wheeze at them if I jump them, at times that will turn them, and it will bring them back to the area looking for the new buck. Also, if I know that deer are congregated in an area I'll snort as not to spook them by scent or sight, then they can't confirm it and will not go far. I talk to deer :thumb:
Enough rambling...good luck at harvesting him.

I can only bowhunt in the backyard, neighbors haven't cared for me shooting out there since I smoked 2 coyotes in the driveway.

Thats great...smoked coyotes in the driveway:thumb:
The one time I was on the Cape I didn't do alot of looking for deer habitat. What I did notice was thick underbrush, not that many mast-producing trees, and lack of agriculture, that has to make the hunting, especially bowhunting, more difficult.
I did see a flock of turkeys on Martha's Vineyard...kinda surprised me.

Theres so many turkeys its stupid except in my neighborhood, not many to hunt their all in peoples yards.

Yep not many places that you can shoot 100yards around here
For coyotes they lifted the over .22 ban, time to go sight in the 30-06. I was having a hell of a time trying to find a 410 with improved cylinder for rifled slugs
