Snap On makes a pretty nice cordless impact. It's spendy but runs really good & its a little more compact than others.

I bought a 24v gun made by Goodyear from Pepboys a while back, only like $75. It's only 200ftlb, so it probably wont take the lug nuts off out trucks. It has worked great swapping from dirt to paddle tires on the desert toys and changing flats on the trailer and other cars.

I've been using the V28 Milwaulkee? for about 3 years now IIRC, and it's had a hard life, but both batteries, the charger, and the tool are still working well. It will swap all four tires on a Dmax almost twice before needing a 1 hr charge again. In other words, you arrive at the track, remove all four street tires, put on the race tires, remove the race tires after the race, then put three street tires back on, then the battery gets weak. But it's a three year old battery. With both batteries charged, it will easily do three trucks. One battery will do several passenger cars before recharging.

Aholes! I've changed tires so many times on that truck that the lugs are getting worn out, but anytime someone else does it, it's all over the interwebbythingy.
Seriously, thanks for helping. It's good to have friends and family at the track.

for the racecar we run all dewalt. Two drills, a 1/2 impact, a 3/8 impact and a ton of batteries gets it done.

Most people don't know that a couple of years ago Pat changed Steve Coles tires at the track with a little help from me and he put them back on after steve raced. Steve never even thanked him. Go figure.

Just wanted to give feed back on the new matco 1/2 inch litium ion, I got one to demo today and put it to the test right away with the snap on side by side. The Matco is made my IR and I have found that the Snap on CT4850HO Out performs the matco. I used them Both side by side installing hydraulic row cleaners on a 24 row planter and the snap on had more guts and was balance better. The matco is about a pound lighter but with a heavy nose it seemed heavier. The nuts being tightened were 1 1/8 and torqued to 265 ft lbs and with a total of 48 and both guns doing one half of them neither ran low on battery.

I've have a few.
I have an 18 volt milwaukee, Makita, some crappy orange one and a snap on.
If you wanna tighten it and walk away, bang for the buck? Mule-waukee hands down. So god da*mn inefficient and heavy.
Wannna fly them on check 'em with a breaker and look flashy doing it twice as fast? Makita with an 18 volt lithium battery, less than half the size, less than half the weight, battery blows the mule-waukee away. BUT you have the check it with a breaker.
Oh, the good mule is $350 + and the Makita is $219. :D
I have the Milwaukee 28V. Very nice tool to have at the track. You can't beat the power.

The SnapOn is nice but expensive. The 28V Milwaukee is a huge heavy thing. I bought the new 18V Milwaukee #2662....higher tq rating than the 28V at 450lb/ft and less bulky. Should work just fine.

I just picked up a Snap-on 1/2" 18v yesterday. I didn't think it was too bad of a price at $450 out the door. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but with all the positive feedback I've read about it, I don't think I'll be disappointed.

Milwaukee M18 P/N 2662-20 works great.
Has the weight and size of the 14.4V tool but the power of the 18V.
The M18 batteries sure last between charges too.

Dewalt is too far behind in the battery dept. They don't compare to the lithium ion batteries.
